Through GoodMeasure our data collection processes have improved, we’re reviewing data more regularly and have seen a real uplift in the quality of data being recorded by kaimahi when updating care plans. What was our aim of completing a GoodMeasure report?

We wanted to better understand the impact the service was having and identify opportunities where we could improve. Strategically, Completing the GoodMeasure report has also given us a strategic tool to help inform decision-making, strengthen internal capabilities, and align with government health policy. It also builds accountability to our stakeholders and gives us evidence-based insights to challenge the status quo and look for opportunites.

What did we learn from the GoodMeasure report?

It helped us highlight what data we didn’t have that could provide a better insight into service impact in a more consistent and meaningful way. It also got us thinking about potential improvements and gave us a few things to take away for the future.

The report validated the importance of data collection and it motivated our kaimahi to collect and record better data. We’ve shifted our thinking from focusing on inputs into the programme to thinking about outcomes.
